Audience iPhone app for Google Analytics

I love simple apps. I love the way some developers manage to get rid of the clutter and give you an app that does one thing extremely well. To complete the package, they design a linear, spartan, beautiful interface around it.

These are the apps that I usually end up using times and times again. There’s an app like that that gives you a minimalist view of your metrics. It’s called Audience.

In the words of the developers, they designed Audience to make up for the lack of simple iPhone apps to track Google Analytics data. Most of those apps display dozens of metrics – that I believe are important to lots of Webmasters – but maybe not for the amateur blogger.

Audience displays just the total number of visitors, new visitors, total page views, unique page views and page views per visitors for today, this week and this month.

Audience for Google Analytics

The setup is straightforward, you just need to enter your Google Analytics credentials and choose which websites to track. The only other option is which default screen should be displayed when launching the app. That is today’s, this week’s or this month’s stats. Displaying the data for a different website is done by simply swiping the screen.

A nice touch is the the main screen’s background color that randomly changes as you swipe through the monitored websites. The app costs only € 0.79 on the iTunes Store.
