A more closed Android?

Gigaom:

Google has traditionally touted Android as the open alternative to iOS, with fewer restrictions and without Apple’s tedious app approval process. But as the company is extending Android to additional platforms, that open spirit is increasingly making way for a more guided, restrictive approach.
