Except it’s all false. This post from Engadget is misleading and the headline should have been:

Researchers crack tablet PINs by tracking the fingers that enter them.

But obviously the word iPad helps with page views. The fact that these researchers managed to snoop the PIN entered by users on an iPad, only says that these guys used the most popular tablet on the market, not that they specifically cracked its PIN system.

The technique that they used to crack the PIN can be used on all tablets on the market, even Android ones.

Sorry, this is really misinformation at its worst and it makes me very angry.
