Just the day after publishing my review of the Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H3 In-Ear Headphones, I came across this article at MacWorld.
Apple could reclaim the space that it currently needs to reserve on its devices for the jack and use it for other purposes, such as making its devices thinner—or, perhaps, reorganizing the iPhone’s internals so that there’s more room inside for a bigger battery.
It makes sense, and in a way if there’s a company that I’d expect to replace something as old as the headphones plug with something new is Apple.
We should also not forget that . Right now Apple has the incentives to make sure that customers buy headphones certified to be used with the Lightning connector.
Having only one connector shared between headphones and charger could maybe pose more problems than solutions. Then again, I can’t remember the last time I tried to listen to some music while the iPhone was charging.
