The Wi-Fi problems on my MacBook Air with OS X Mavericks came back a few days ago. Out of the blue, the Wi-Fi started dropping 2-3 times a day. The only way to go back online is either to turn-off/on the Wi-Fi on the MacBook Air or renew the DHCP lease.
Not only does that mean that my previous post to solve the problem does not represent a definitive solution, but also that I need to find a new one.
Last night I came across this post by Alessio Signorini that suggests a new approach to the problem by recreating a new Wi-Fi interface while in :
- Restart the laptop in Safe Mode, keeping the shift key down while pressing the power button
- Open “Network Preferences”
- Click “Apply” to confirm the existence of the new Thunderbolt Bridge. Then disable it, if you don’t use it.
- Delete the Wi-fi interface, apply the changes
- Create a new Wi-fi Interface
- Reboot
This morning I followed the steps and like I did last time I will now monitor the situation.
If this should not work, I think I’ll resort to reinstalling Mavericks from scratch, not something I look forward to.
Fix number once again didn’t work for me.
Apologies for the late reply. How about 10.9.3?
