Yesterday, while reading the lazy man’s guide to streaming movies from iTunes I came across a new – and maybe simpler – way to stream movies from Time Capsule.

To use this new method, you will need to buy two apps:

The beauty FileBrowser is that it automatically scans all your network drives. This takes away the chore to type difficult to remember IP addresses to access your Time Capsule/network drive.

On top of that FileBrowser and CineXPlayer integrate with each other. In fact, when you instruct FileBrowser to open a movie in CineXPlayer, you can decide to either stream it or downloading it to CineXPlayer.

By using these two apps, streaming movies is effortless and fluid. Videos play without interruptions and at a normal frame rate.
